Kone crashes Harambee Stars’ to end Kenya’s World Cup dream

Mali claimed their back to back victories in World Cup qualifiers Group ‘E’ by beating Kenya 1-0 at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.

Mali’s forward Ibrahim Kone returned to haunt Kenya with his 55th minute strike to hand the west Africa side all the three points.

Last Thursday in Agadir Morocco, Kone scored a hatrick in the 5-0 win over Kenya.

The defeat ended Kenya’s 2022 World Cup dream as they now trail group leaders Mali with eight points.

Uganda, who beat Rwanda in Kampala, are second with eight points and will challenges Mali for a place in the next qualifying round. Only group winners proceed to the final qualifying round.
