‘It’s a tough assignment but not impossible’ Okere says ahead of return match against Uganda

As they contemplate how to overturn a 7-2 deficit to qualify for the next stage of their 2022 FIFA U-20 women’s qualifiers, Rising Starlets head coach Charles Okere has exuded confidence of getting good results and advancing to the next round.

Speaking after his side beat FKF Women Premier league side Zetech Sparks 1-0, at the Camp Toyoyo grounds, Okere said he expect a tough match, but remained optimistic against turning tables against the crested cranes.

“It is a tough assignment but not impossible. This is a resilient team based on the friendly match we have played today. The girls have shown great display of character, and I believe we are ready for Uganda,” Okere said.

After the friendly match, Okere commented on how they regrouped as a team after their 7-2 defeat against Uganda last week.

“After the game, we started to work on the area that we did not do well. We have also worked on what we did well to make our game play even better,” he added.

Rising Starlets will leave for Uganda on Tuesday October 5, 2021, to prepare sufficiently for their match against Crested cranes on Friday, October 8, 2021.
