Sonko has returned what he stole from Kenyans – Kalonzo says

Wiper Democratic Movement Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has come out to defend former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko over corruption allegations that were levelled against him.

While addressing Wiper Party aspirants in Nairobi on Wednesday, Kalonzo criticised the move by the United States to issue a travel ban against Sonko.

The former Vice President noted that it was hypocritical for the UD to ban Sonko from entering the country yet it allowed known corrupt leaders within the Kenya Kwanza Alliance to visit the state.

“You get a whole person getting 1,000 notes changed because of corruption and you allow them to come to visit your country,” Kalonzo said.

The Wiper boss, therefore, assured the former governor that he will negotiate with the US to revert the ban issued against him.

“I was meeting the American church in my campaign secretariat, and we spoke. You know that is my area of expertise. I asked why they (Americans) denied travel documents to Governor Sonko who was there with me. I put up a very strong case,” he stated.

Kalonzo vowed to defend Sonko noting that he is a corrupt-free man since he has not been charged with any crime as his graft cases are still in court

The Former Vice President assured that he will defend Sonko painting him as a corrupt-free man saying he hasn’t been charged with any crime as his graft cases are pending in court.

“I encourage our brother Governor Sonko, a fighter for the Common person. The person with the heart of the common man. I will stand with Sonko in it all so that he stands out strong,” Musyoka said.

Kalonzo’s statement comes at a time when Sonko is seeking re-election for the Nairobi governor seat on the Wiper party ticket.
