Shock as Kenyan leading political expert reveald how Uhuru tricked Raila a day after JAKOM threatened to tell Kenyans how Ruto stole the August polls
Kenyan leading political analyst Abdullahi Alas, has claimed that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta was not sincere in his political support for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
Kenyatta had repeatedly said he will support Raila Odinga to succeed him and was instrumental in the crafting of a coalition to that effect. But Odinga failed to clinch the presidency.
According to political expert Abdullahi Alas, President Uhuru Kenyatta tricked Raila Odinga as he could not involve him in his political afilliated ralies such as the Sagana 111.
“Did Uhuru Kenyatta support Raila Odinga? Why didn’t he take him to Sagana? Raila was played and he didn’t realize.” – Abdullahi Alas told TV 47.
This comes as Mr Odinga declared that he won the August 9 elections and that the coalition had completed an audit of the results and will tell Kenyans how his votes were stolen.
“We have done an audit and have established how our votes were stolen and the number of the stolen votes. We shall reveal it all on Wednesday,” Mr Odinga said. He accused Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati of complicity in the theft of his votes.
Mr Odinga said Kenyans should turn up for his rallies ready to resist a “scheme by President Ruto’s government to take the country back to the old days of dictatorship.”
Elsewhere, Electoral commission vice chairperson Juliana Cherera has resigned, days after being suspended from office by President William Ruto.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) vice chair becomes the second of the four besieged commissioners who were set to face a tribunal on their conduct following a parliamentary vote and the formation of a Justice Aggrey Muchelule-led team.
Commissioner Justus Nyang’aya was the first to call it quits on Friday, hours after President Ruto formed the tribunal.
Ms Cherera and Mr Nyang’aya are among four commissioners including Irene Masit and Francis Wanderi who will remain out of office pending investigation by the tribunal expected to submit a report and its recommendations in 30 days.
In a letter to the President, Ms Cherera said she quit because “my cumulative actions done in good faith are unfortunately misjudged and misinterpreted.”
