Nairobi County boss Johson Sakaa has revealed details of his private meeting with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga. The governor confirmed having held a meeting with the ODM leader and his people. According to Sakaja, in the meeting, Raila requested that Sakaja rewards his Azimio people with CEC slots.
Raila and his team reportedly wanted a total of five slots out of the available ten slots.
However, after negotiations with the governor, Sakaja decided to reward them with only three CEC slots
He was speaking on a local media house on Tuesday where he revealed the details of his meeting with Raila
“During my meeting with Raila and his team, they requested five CEC slots but we agreed on three. Hence, out of the ten, we had to distribute across to ensure one region is not favoured,” Sakaja said.
It should be noted that awarding of CEC slots was one of the reasons why a section of Kenya Kwanza MCAs had issues with the governor. While Sakaja was after uniting the city regardless of the political divide, a section of MCAs wanted him to only consider Kenya Kwanza loyalists.
Just a few hours after President William ruto outlined the mandate of his deputy Gachagua, today he met up with a senior politician from the orange democratic movement who recently openly indicated that he is willing to work with the current regime under the leadership of President William ruto.
According to an update by the deputy president he revealed that he met up with the governor Kisii Arati Simba who has been keen on ensuring that his county develops after joining hands with President William ruto.
The meeting with ruto’s deputy coming just a few days after he was spotted at state house together with President William ruto and other like-minded leaders from the region who openly indicated that they are willing and ready to work with ruto. Gachagua revealing that the meeting discussed among other things key development issues that the county of kisii stands to benefit after openly indicating their intention to work with president Ruto.
