Deputy President William Ruto has taken a swipe at Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking at a rally in his Western Kenya tour, DP Ruto lashed out at Raila for criticizing his donations of cash to churches and the less fortunate.
Ruto said that it is wrong for Raila to criticize his donations yet he (Raila) was has a lot of money to give to the poor.
“Why is he bothered about me giving out Ksh2 million to the poor? That is very little money that he can also afford but he can’t because he is just mean,” Ruto claimed.
Raila has on several occasions questioned Ruto’s source of weather where he gets the millions he ditches out to his rallies.
Ruto promised that if he ascends to power, the will Ksh50 billion to small and micro businesses to ensure that the poor have raised their economic class.
“In the spirit of the bottom-up economy, we will ensure that we empower small businesses through pumping money through government,” he said.
Ruto’s criticism comes hours after he joined several Kenyans in celebrating Raila’s 77th birthday saying that he be blessed with more years.
“Happy birthday Jakom. May you be blessed with many more.@RailaOdinga,” he wrote.
