Deputy President William Ruto has once again hit out at his main rival and ODM party leader Raila Odinga, claiming that he is not fit to lead the country.
Speaking in Nairobi, Ruto who referred to Raila as a state project claimed that the handshake between the former premier and President Uhuru Kenyatta was an abuse to the Jubilee Party leadership.
Ruto further noted that Raila cannot be considered a leader in the current government noting that he is an imposter to the Jubilee administration. According to him, Raila is an outsider who the Jubilee leader, the president, cannot consider as his successor yet the original founders of the ruling party are still present.
The second-in-command noted that instead of the president imposing Raila as his successor he should nominate a mama mboga for the top seat.
“Kuna watu wanatuambia ati kati yetu watu milioni nane tumekosa kiongozi hadi wanaenda kukondesha mtu ya kitendawili ati akuje aongoze sisi; hio ni madharau makubwa sana,” Ruto said.
Adding:“Ata kama tumekwama kiasi gani, si ata heri tuchukue mama wa kuuza kiosk hapa ambaye tulikua nayeye na anajua mahali sisi tumetoka aongoze sisi?”
Ruto further claimed that Raila has no development track record noting that he (Raila) only has a record of destroying other people’s parties and breaking the law.
“Mtu ya kitendawili ambaye hana track record ya kufanya kazi yoyote, mtu ambaye ya kungoa reli na kuvunja chama yote, mtu ya kujiapisha na kupiga watu mawe,” Ruto said.
