Kenyans have taken to social media to react to a photo of ODM leader Raila Odinga and DP Ruto’s close ally Susan Kihika hanging out together.
In the photo that has since circulated online, the former prime minister was captured having a good time with the Nakuru Senator – his political foe – during the burial of David Kibira Muchai, founder of Mololine Services.
The two leaders were captured as if they were having a deep conversation at the burial. Senator Kihika who sat close to Raila was captured leaning towards the Opposition Chief as if she showing him something on his phone.
A section of Kenyans has taken online to give views of the two leaders comfortably hanging out together. Some Kenyans noted that it was good to see two top leaders from opposing sides exercising political tolerance and unity.
Others noted that both Raila and Susan were trying to show the ordinary Kenyans that it is foolish for them to fight one another over political differences.
“It is only poor illiterates who are fighting each other on social media because of nonsense. Have you ever seen Raila’s son abusing Sudi or Murkomen on social media? Why are you spreading hate during elections and then after elections you be begging your neighbor for a job or money? Why must you hate you, brother or sister, because they are supporting those you don’t support? Raila is called Baba because he loves all politicians equally, he is their father politically. Raila doesn’t hold grudges,” one Jafeth Owino said
With most online users calling for unity among politicians and Kenyans in general, they auctioned voters against being duped by the media that portrays politicians as enemies. According to them, there are no enemies in politics.
