Raila flies out of the country after Junet’s blunder

ODM leader Raila Odinga will leave the country, on Wednesday, a week after Suna East MP Junet Mohammed made an utterance that would affect his bid to clinch the presidency come 2022.

Mr.Odinga is said to be leaving the country for Dubai where he is expected to stay for a week. Sources close to Raila claim that he will visit the United Emirates Arabs for private matters.

“He is going to Dubai, he is going for one week,” ODM chair John Mbadi told The Star.

It is not, however, the first time the former Premier is leaving the country for Dubai for private matters. In July this year, Raila is said to have visited the country to mobilize resources ahead of his 2022 presidential campaigns.

Raila’s recent trip comes at a time when political temperatures in the country have started to rise with politicians having started holding big rallies to strengthen and expand their support base.

Raila was recently in Kisumu, Kisii, and Kiambu where he staged major rallies popularizing his Azimio la Umoja initiative.

Upon his return to the country, Raila is expected to storm Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s Ukambani backyard in Machakos on November 12.

ODM secretary-general Edwin Sifuna, on Tuesday, confirmed the Machakos meeting noting that the unity drive is expected to be done in all regions in the country.

“Our Azimio la Umoja will be in Machakos county on November 12 then we shall move to Central Kenya on a date to be announced,” Sifuna said.
