Morara Kebaso, a prominent Nairobi businessman and owner of Morara Home Furniture, has raised serious concerns about his safety, claiming intimidation and harassment from government and Nairobi County officials.
This comes after his videos, which humorously mimic President William Ruto’s speeches, went viral on social media.
Kebaso has amassed a significant following with his comedic takes on the president’s promises, entertaining netizens and sparking conversations across various platforms.
However, the attention has seemingly come at a price. Morara alleges that his business and personal life have been under siege, starting with an unexpected visit from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), followed closely by Nairobi County officials. He anticipates a visit from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as well.
In a bold statement, Morara declared, “I know I look fine, but I am not okay. The government has been on my neck and in my business vibaya sana. I am fearless. The government has mastered the art of intimidating business people.” Despite the mounting pressure, he remains resolute and unbowed.
Morara’s defiance is further reflected in his confidence in his diverse skills. “I can survive without it. I am multi-talented. I can be a content creator, a preacher, an author, a motivational speaker. If Steve Simple Boy can sing, then I can be Michael Jackson himself. I can even defeat them in an election,” he asserted.
