President William Ruto has announced the nomination of 10 additional individuals to join his Cabinet, sparking significant interest and reactions across the political spectrum.
Among the nominees are several notable figures from the opposition, reflecting a strategic approach to inclusivity in his administration.
One of the most prominent appointments is that of ODM party’s nominated MP, John Mbadi, who has been proposed as the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury.
Former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho has been nominated to lead the Ministry of Mining and Blue Economy, bringing his regional influence and experience to the national stage.
Another notable nomination is that of former Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya, who has been proposed for the Ministry of Co-operatives.

Rebecca Miano, initially considered for the role of Attorney General, has been reassigned to the Tourism docket, a move that aligns with her extensive experience in promoting Kenya’s global image. Stella Soi Lang’at has been nominated to head the Gender and Culture Ministry, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to social issues.

Former Public Service CS Moses Kuria reflected on past Cabinet changes, sharing on social media how he spent an afternoon with his friend Festus Mwangi Kiunjuri after the latter was removed from the Cabinet in January 2020.
”On 14th January 2020 my friend Festus Mwangi Kiunjuri was fired from Cabinet. On that day I took him out for lunch. Today my brother has returned that favour. It was a good lunch. Asante Mwangi,” Moses Kuria wrote.
