Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has begun a public fight with Kakamega Women Rep Elsie Muhanda after she allegedly declined his advances.
The Muhanda noted that the Senator has been attacking in public for the last few because she declined his advances for cash.
“We know the character of Senator Malalah, which I detest. He thinks he can use threats and coercion to force everybody into silence or part with some cash,” the woman rep said as reported by The People Daily.
Muhanda’s sentiments come after Senator Malala accused her of gender discrimination and misappropriation of county funds.
Malala claimed that the woman rep could not account for over Sh140 million she has been receiving from the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).
He noted that Muhanda does not understand her duties to the public and has been using the money meant for development to enrich herself.
“Muhanda thinks she is supposed to only support women whom she is not even helping but only giving high-interest loans under the Kacoma Sacco she established to fleece the public,” Malala claimed as reported by The People Daily.
“She does not have regard for the women who deserve help. Her initiatives such as handing umbrellas worth Sh1,000 each and pants to them are just meant to hoodwink and insult our poor women,” he added.
The Senator further accused Muhanda of sidelining the youth, especially of the male gender. He also claimed that the woman rep has ignored adults and the disabled.
