Joshua Kutuny Lobbying For CS Position in the Soon to be Formed Coalition Government after Corona

He confounded friends and foes when as a political greenhorn, he managed to trounce a more seasoned, powerful and moneyed then Kipruto Arap Kirwa who served as the Agriculture Minister.

That was in 2007, when he landed on the political stage as Cherangany MP with a thud and heralded a checkered political career.

With the relationship of ODM leader Raila Odinga and Ruto becoming frosty, Kutuny became one of Raila’s fiercest critics even as Rift Valley politicians walked out of the orange party.

His re-election bid suffered a major blow in 2013 as he lost the seat to athlete Wesley Korir. However, as a vibrant member of the Jubilee coalition, President Uhuru Kenyatta came to his rescue as he was appointed presidential adviser on political matters.

He would make a political comeback in 2017 when he defeated Korir on a Jubilee Party ticket. But since then, his relationship with the DP William Ruto has deteriorated for the worst.

Kutuny has opted for the Raila-Uhuru political axis. And when the time comes, he doesn’t shy away from taking the DP head-on. At the moment, it seems he is privy to imminent changes in government.

The youthful lawmaker, who identifies with the Kieleweke faction of the ruling Jubilee party, is said to be frantically lobbying for an appointment in the Cabinet should President Uhuru , Raila Odinga and Kanu chairman Gideon Moi form a coalition government as reported in a section of the media.

The MP has been pitching tent at the residence of one of the three leaders to make his case, and has even confided in some of his aides of his imminent promotion.
