Headache for Raila after Mount Kenya region sends new demand on 2022 presidential election

Mount Kenya region leaders have sent a new demand to orange Democratic party leader Raila Odinga ahead of the upcoming 2022 general election

Led by MPs Muturi Kigano (Kangema), Nduati Ngugi (Gatanga), Wangari Mwaniki (Kigumo), Peter Kimari (Mathioya) and newly nominated senator Isaac Ngugi, revealed that they will start a series of negotiation meetings to have Peter Kenneth picked as a handshake candidate in next year’s polls.

The leaders who spoke at a church service in Muranga County on Sunday, said Kenneth is a tested and proven leader who has been a staunch supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta and has worked with the ODM boss giving him the required experience to work with the former prime Minister.

A sentiment that is about to cause tension within Odinga’s camp, Mathioya Member of Parliament Peter Kimari maintained that the region should have a leader in the next government who will ensure the region’s interest are taken care of.

“Kenneth is a perfect brand for Raila. Muranga has been so selfless on political decision and that is why we want him to be a handshake candidate.,” MP mwaniki said.

Kenneth promised that when picked for the job, he will not frustrate Mt Kenya region or Raila.
