What a privilege Siaya to the world!- Larry Madowo’s Reaction Debuting As CNN News Anchor

Award-winning Kenyan-born Cable News Networks journalist Larry Madowo has reacted on his milestone achievement debuting as a news anchor to the Atlanta based Networks.

Taking to his official Facebook page while marveling at his dream come true, Larry noted that it had always been his dream to be in such a moment.

The vividly happy larry could not hide his marvel at the rare privilege of anchoring the news with may of the journalism heroes, while recalling his Rural home in Siaya Kenya where it all began.

“I used to dream of this moment. What a privilege to anchor a CNN newscast with so many of my journalism heroes. Siaya to the world!” Reacted Larry Madowo.

The news of his role came to light after the after the seasoned journalist took online announcing that he would be anchoring news for CNN for “a little bit”.

“New thing alert, I’m anchoring on CNN International from Atlanta for a little bit. Join me Live today and every weekday,” Madowo revealed.

Larry further clarified that that the bulletin airs live at 12 pm in New York but his fans in home Country Kenya can tune in at 7 pm.

Larry’s next move comes just months after he was recently promoted to becoming the Networks International correspondent and relocated to Atlanta in Georgia.

The former NTV news anchor was poached from the BBC just months ago and first appointed as their Nairobi-based correspondent.

Before joining CNN as their Nairobi-based correspondent, he worked in the Northern part of America as a BBC correspondent based in Washington DC.

Among the topics covered by Larry then includes, Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 US elections, the death of George Floyd, and the trial of Derek Chauvin the then chief suspect in the murder of George Floyd.

The News anchor had previously served as the BBC Africa Business Editor, before exiting the Media House for One year, later coming back to BBC as their North America correspondent, a position he only left later after joining CNN.

Ang his recent achievements are anchoring breaking news from the BBC’s Washington DC studios and presenting its flagship program BBC World News America.

Larry was also named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2020. He is a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in Economics and Business Journalism at Columbia University from where he recently graduated with a master’s degree.

The journalist was November, 2020, picked to deliver the 4th Annual Peter Stursberg Foreign Correspondents Lecture, at the Carleton University School of Journalism and Communication, in Canada.
