VIDEO: Raila’s Academic Background And Qualification In Question Amid IEBC New Directive That All Leaders Vying For Any Elective Posts Should Have Degrees

Confusion as to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga’s academic qualification in question following the independent Electrol and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) new directive that all leaders vying for any elective post in the next general election should at least have a degree as one of the requirements.

The IEBC latest directive to have leaders biting for elective posts has sparked mixed reactions amongst leaders with some expressing their disappointment on the commission as others agrees with the commission to impose the new directive.

The outspoken nominated Member of Parliament Ole Sankok has, however, expressed his concern about the former Prime Minister’s academic qualifications claiming that the Opposition Chief’s education background is not clear since no one has ever acknowledged having schooled with Raila in Primary school, Secondary school, and even at the University.

The lawmaker further added that there are only rumors that Raila went to school together with Nigerian Citizen Obasanjo who is difficult to find to clarify Raila’s academic history.

Sankok also claimed that no one is aware of what course Raila studied for but there is skimpy information that Raila did engineering noting that it could be a welding course which people are now referring to as engineering.

The lawmaker’ allegations came as a result of the academic regulations from IEBC wondering if the Opposition Chief will make it to the ballot if degree qualifications will be mandatory for all the leaders vying for elective positions in the next general polls.

The lawmaker also noted that as a member of the newly formed UDA party that Deputy President William Ruto is suspected will use to run for the country’s top seat, they want to compete with a worthy opponent who is Mr. Odinga, adding that they don’t want to miss that opportunity because of the IEBC new direction to vie for an elective position.
