Prof George Magoha’s biography and curriculum vitae has caught vetting committee by surprise when he was asked to take them through his life.
The former University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor was appearing to the vetting committee led by National Assembly speaker Hon Muturi after he was nominated by President Uhuru Kenyatta as the new Education Cabinet secretary.
Starting from a poor background family in Kisumu, Prof Magoha narrated how he started his primary school in Kisumu, then Starehe Boys Centre before taking his degree at Strathmore college. Prof Magoha add that he would then join University of Lagos through a government sponsorship where he trained as a surgeon and urologist.
