Tusker FC took advantage of KCB slip-up away to relegation battling side Vihiga United when they won 2-0against Kakamega Homeboyz on Friday to go three point clear of the champion at the top of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (fkfpl).
Tusker,who need any three points from its remaining two league matches to claim its second premier league trophy of the last five years, climbed to 61 points from 31 matches ahead of the Bankers,who lost 2-1 at Vihiga United.
The Brewers secured three points through goals from Michael Modoya and a defense mishap from the visitor that saw them scoring on their own net.
In Mumias,Samwel Mwangi put KCB ahead after 14 minute,but Vihiga won with two goals from Lawrence Luvanda in the 16th and 28th minute.
At the Bukhungu stadium,Kariobangi Sharks edged Nzoia united3-1 to end their three-match loosing run.
Erick Kapaito maintained his sensational goal-scoring run form when he netted two first half goals. Nzoia’s Hillary Simiyu scored the consolation goal before Peter Lwase bagged the third goal for sharks.
