Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed and her larger family are in mourning following the death of her brother Esmael Mohammed Jibril.
This follows an announcement made yesterday evening March 1, 2021, through a press release that Jibril had died in India while undergoing treatment.
Following his death, President Uhuru Kenyatta led Kenyans, in mourning the astute and determined entrepreneur.
In his message of comfort and condolence to the larger Esmael family, friends, and relatives the head of state praised his role in building the economy.
“As a country, we will forever owe a debt of gratitude to Mohamed for his role in making Kenya a better economy and, especially for the job opportunities he created for our people through his successful commercial interests,” President Kenyatta stated.
Jibril as a businessman had interests in Jibram Investments Limited and Java Coffee House, one of East Africa’s leading coffee houses along with several other ventures.
This comes just a short while after the Sports CS had in 2018 lost yet another brother Yusuf Mohammed Jibril at the Nairobi West’s Meridian Hospital after being rushed to the hospital over a short illness.
