Speculation Rife After Miguna Alleges Surprise Political Move Kalonzo Musyoka Has Made

Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna latest tweet concerning Wiper leaded Kalonzo Musyoka has caused a stir online.

While talking to his twitter account on Friday evening, the exiled lawyer claimed that the former Vice President is set to be a President candidate after he allegedly submitted forms for President and Deputy President to IEBC.

“Mr. @skmusyoka has just COMPLETED the @IEBCKenya forms for President and Deputy President. They will be submitted on Monday, May 16th. Good luck, Mr. Musyoka,” Miguna tweeted.

This comes as a section of leaders allied to Kalonzo Musyoka revealed that he is set to vie for Presidency in the Upcoming polls if Azimio One Kenya Coalition flagbearer Raila Odinga does not pick him as the running mate in the coalition.

Speaking to a local website on Friday, Makueni Member of Parliament, Daniel Maanzo, disclosed that the party has already collected signatures and was ready to field Kalonzo in the August polls if things do not go their way.

Additionally, he disclosed that the party has also settled on a potential running mate for Kalonzo whose name will be submitted to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) before the Monday, May 16 deadline.

The only reason he stopped his ambitions was to support Raila as his deputy. In the event that is not there, the law does not stop him from running. In the event Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta change their mind, we will run on our own.

“We have collected all the signatures and they are ready. On the May 16 running mate naming deadline, we cannot miss that, we have identified a suitable running mate for Kalonzo ,” he told

He revealed that the party was supporting Raila’s candidature with the expectation of being given the running mate slot as negotiated with President Uhuru Kenyatta and the ODM boss.

On Thursday, reports emerged that reports revealed that that the panel had settled on Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka— in that order — as the most preferred to deputise the flagbearer, Mr Odinga, in the August 9 elections.
