Senator Orengo Gives An Overview On How BBI Petition Proceedings Will Be Done After President Kenyatta, Raila File An Appeal

The outspoken Siaya Senator and Senior Council James Orengo has given the details of how the Building Bridges Initiatives (BBI) petition will be done after the President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake patner Raila Odinga have filed an apeal.

President Kenyatta, ODM leader with help of Attorney General Kihara Kariuki filed an official appeal following the High Court Ruling on the constitutional changes through the BBI process on the illegality grounds.

According to Orengo the High Court declarations on the matter in question can not be taken for granted as their decision sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans and it will be decent to make the entire process public.

Orengo also Suggested that the process of delivering the judgment on the BBI appeal should be done with transparency as all eyes are on the Court of Appeal as Kenyans waiting to see if the decision will be upheld or overturned, adding that he believes 4 days hearing will be very important for the BBI case in limbo.

” Looking at the judgement, there were nearly 23 declarations made affecting our 2 clients, the hearing of this petition will be done in the full glare of the public, given that it is about our constitution, our suggestion would be 4 days for appeal,” Orengo started.
