The Outspoken Meru County Senator Franklin Mithika Linturi is once again in trouble for sneaking into a couple’s hotel room, and allegedly attempted to rape the woman when the husband was out.
Reports indicate that Senator Linturi has since move to Courts under a certificate of urgency seeking to stop the police officers from arresting or charging him with the offence of attempted rape and indecent act.
According to the police report, the incident with Senator Linturi happened at the beginning of the year on January 29, 2021 while in the company of her husband and friends at Maiyan Villa Resort in Nanyuki.
The woman stated that she had retired to bed early and did not lock their room door since her husband was still out and had not come to their room.
At a round 3AM in the morning, she heard the door unlock and assumed it was her husband who was back, with the lights still off, and the person entered their bed and started touching her in a ‘very unusual manner’.
According to the woman, the man she thought was her husband never uttered even a word while he continuously touched her inappropriately until they both fell asleep.
“30 minutes later while in the romantic mood I heard a knock on the door and went to open the door only to find my husband standing at the door,” read the report.
On switching the lights on after the husband got in, they realized that there was a stranger in the room, with the husband becoming furious and later causing an alarm.
Their friends in the room got alerted and came to confirm what was happening with one positively identifying the stranger as Senator Mithika Linturi.
After thorough investigation, it was later established that the Senator was one of the guest at the resort and had a room adjacent to the couple’s room and it’s still unclear if the law maker confused his villa with that of the couple.
The woman alleged that the Senator resorted for an out of court settlement, offering them 200, 000 in cash and a cheque of 800,000, but later reported them for extortion.
