Safaricom Launches Video Calls Technology

Are you using Safaricom 4G? Then this will be awesome news to you, Safaricom has officially launched Voice over LTE, an advanced technology that will allow Safaricom subscribers to make HD and video calls with reduced background noise and you will still be able to make calls while browsing.

According to experts, VoLTE has better phone call quality and triple fold than 3G and six times better than 4G. The Telcom company has been toying around with the idea of VOLTE ever since it moved the 4G network but had to wait for a green light from Samsung, Tecno, Intel, Huawei and Nokia to push for an update on their respective platforms so as to support VoLTE. Safaricom is also engaging Apple to bring on board iPhone users who are currently locked out of the VoLTE

With this kind of technology, its a first in East Africa. Makes it possible for Safaricom customers now make quality voice and video calls without internet and at normal calling rates.

Safaricom has 45% of subscribers on 4G coverage and over 5000 towns covered and plans are still in place to widen the coverage so as more people can enjoy the services.
