Royal Media Services makes major changes in the editorial department a month after senior editor’s death

Barely a month after death hit them hard killing radio managing editor Robin Njogu, Kenyan giant Royal Media has announced major changes in the editorial department.

Through a memo, the media house appointed Youth Muthomi as the next Managing editor with effect from Sunday 1st May 2021.

In an attempt to further strengthen the team, Director Joe Ageyo further announced new changes in the squad in line with the emerging market trends and changes.

Affected in the new changes includes, Lincoln Njogu who was appointed as the next Deputy managing editor-Radio.

 He will therefore be Young Muthomi’s principal assistant and in charge of all correspondents, reporters, and other news desk operations.

Former Digital Sports Editor Isaac Swila was appointed News Editor, while Christine Ojiambo and former news editor Josphat Odipo were promoted to Senior News Anchors and News Producers.

Author Edwin Obuya was promoted to the position of Sub-Editor, where he will be responsible for editing news scripts as assigned by the Managing Editor.

Sports journalist Jacob Icia was also favored in the transition as he was promoted to the position of Sub-Editor, where he will be helping in strengthening the quality of stories on the sports desk.

Esther Njeri Ngugi will continue in her previous capacity as a Sub-Editor Digital but will work closely with the rest of the leadership team to ensure the cross-platform success of RMS products
