Raila Odinga held a meeting with Luhya elders

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga and his family on Wednesday April 21, 2021 hosted a delegation of elders from the Luhya community at his home in Karen, Nairobi.

Reports have revealed that the Elders from Western Kenya region came to pay a visit to the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga with a message of get well wishes after he had contracted Covid-19.

The Luhya elders were led by the former Kenyan Ambassador to the United States of America and the permanent representative at the United Nations, Burudi Nabwera.

Although the agenda of their meeting was not immediately established, however, matters to do with 2022 General election prominently dominated their discussion.

This was revealed after the Opposition leader took to his social media page and posted a message stating that they were glad to host a delegation of the Luhya Council of Elders led by former ambassador Burudi Nabwera.

“Mama Ida and I were pleased to host a delegation of the Luhya Council of Elders led by former ambassador Burudi Nabwera. We are thankful for the outpouring of get-well-wishes from these eminent elders. Orio muno khumasayo, Nyasaye abalinde mwesi (Thank you so much for your prayers. May God bless you all),” Raila tweeted.

Raila and his family also expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of get-well-wishes from the eminent elders from the Luhya Community.
