ODM leader Raila Odinga has left the country for the DRC where he will meet President Felix Tshikedi and discuss a number issues not only touching on DRC but also the entire continent, such as the Grand Inga Dam Project which is supported by the African Union.
”Mr. Odinga will have a meeting with President Felix Tshisekedi to review progress on the Grand Inga Hydropower project,” Dennis Onyango, Raila Odinga’s spokesperson said in an alert to the media. Raila Odinga is the African Union’s High Representative for Infrastructure Development.
In June, a virtual forum was held on the same and it is believed the former PM is going to attend the second phase in the DRC.
“This conference, which will take place in two stages during this month of June and in September-October 2020, among other objectives is to present the current and future opportunities of the Grand Inga and to promote all the hydroelectric potential of the Democratic Republic of Congo so as to encourage calls for expressions of interest for the purchase of the energy to be produced,” President Tshisekedi said in June.
