Raila confronts DP Ruto with ugly truth [Video]

In an attempt to ring-fence his political stronghold and ready himself for the 2022 race Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga yesterday made a tour of the Nairobi’s Eastlands region.

The AU special envoy has recently met with the youth, women, and even the council of elders drawn from the Kikuyu community in order to seek support from the area and popularize BBI in the region.

While speaking yesterday at Kayole’s Soweto catholic church Odinga poked holes in the Jubilee administration for the unfulfilled promises and the poor service delivery to the people.

During yesterday’s tour, Odinga reiterated his Ufungamano house utterances where he met women and the youth and talked of undelivered 47 ultra-modern stadia to the people, creation of a million jobs to the youth, and the delivery of laptops to primary pupils in 2013.

“They say Raila is analogue. They said children will have laptops. He has forgotten that and now he is giving out handcarts and wheelbarrows. Where are the jobs, state-of-the-art stadia?” Raila told the women.

He went ahead to accuse the DP of undermining the government by running a parallel opposition within the government while duping the public of being with the commoners.

The DP has been doing rounds telling people that their agenda was derailed by the handshake that President Kenyatta went into with Odinga.

“There are those who are now trying to blame BBI for Jubilee’s failures. Is Raila a minister in the Jubilee government? It is them who are in office using government resources,” Raila said.

The former Premier went ahead to say.  “I want to warn Kenyans of the lies and propaganda of Mr six months. They promised many things saying in six months we shall give laptops, in six months we shall give a million youths jobs, in six months we shall build 47 modern stadia.”

He also hinted at the possibility of vying in the race for 2022.

“No retreat is no surrender until we get to where we wanted. Our journey to Canaan is now and we want to walk together with youth, women, and all Kenyans,” said Raila.

Raila was in the company of ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohammed (Suna East), MPs Babu Owino (Embakasi East), Millie Odhiambo (Suba North), Esther Passaris (Nairobi Woman Rep), Maina Kamanda (nominated) and Godfrey Osotsi (nominated).

Others were MPs George Aladwa (Makadara), Raphael Wanjala (Budalangi), Antony Oluoch (Mathare), and Samuel Atandi (Alego Usonga).
