Raila Assures His Opponents That 2022 Elections Will Not Be Rigged For Anyone

Nobody will be rigged out in next year’s presidential elections, ODM leader Raila Odinga has said.

The former Premier, who is among the front runners in the race, has been making authoritative announcements lately, using the closeness between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Recently, for instance, he said that fuel price will soon fall. On Tuesday, he assured Kenyans that the race will be free and fair and there is no need for fear.

The leader said that himself and the President are working on seeing to it that the polls are free and fair, a major U-turn from a man who has thrice accused the powers that be of rigging him out.

The plan, he said, is to ensure that peace prevails and aspirants are not given a reason to reject election results, further stating that there will be no post election wrangles and subsequent violence.

“I can assure you that the election for president will be free and fair as Uhuru and I are committed to liberating this country to where our forefathers wanted it to be,” he said when he met youths from Uhuru’s Mt Kenya region as part of his campaigns.

This comes as the answer to Deputy President William Ruto, who had earlier admitted having reports that there could be a plan to rig him out by the said deep state in favour of another candidate.

Ruto, while addressing a delegation at his Karen residence last year, said that he is aware of the alleged plan to steal his win, alleging that there is a group sitted somewhere trying to influence the polls.

“We are being told that the deep state will rig us out even if we win, that there are people just sitted somewhere waiting to rig us out, but we have God and the people,” said the Second In Command.

Ruto is Raila’s leading opponent and is seen as having fallen out with the deep state after parting ways with the President. He has also lost the favour of the Mt Kenya Foundation
