Prominent people we lost to COVID 19

Below are some of the prominent people who have died from COVID 19.

PAPA SHIRANDULA

His sense of humor made Papa Shirandula be one of Kenya’s best-loved TV Characters. The 58-year-old played the role of a security guard that was familiar to many. He won deals with brands like Coca-Cola among others.

Papa died due to COVID 19 complications.

Many Kenyans have mourned Papa as a man with a big heart, saying that his passing had been a big hit to the country.

LECTURER KEN OUKO

The University of Nairobi lost one of its sociology and psychology lecturers, Dr. Ken Ouko. He passed away on Saturday, August 1, while admitted at Aga Khan Hospital.

UoN Communications Director John Orindi confirmed that the renowned lecturer Ouko succumbed to COVID 19.

WINNIE MUKAMI

Former NTV anchor Winnie Mukami died after contracting Covid-19.

Ms. Mukami served as a board member at Kenya Pipeline, died at a city hospital where she was receiving treatment.

LORNA IRUNGU

Former Nation FM presenter and ex-Gina Din Communications managing director, Lorna Irungu-Macharia, died at a city hospital where she had been admitted after contracting Covid-19.

The mother of one was married to Edwin Macharia, and together they have a daughter.
