President Uhuru’s Madaraka day goodies to Nyanza region that could split the NASA Coalition

As the 2022 general election fast approaches, details have emerged over a looming rift between Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and other National Super Alliance(NASA) Co-principals.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s goodies that he delivered to the Luo-Nyanza region during his three-day working visit as well as during the Madaraka Day Celebration that was held in Kisumu County have triggered another political battle between the former Prime Minister and his NASA Coalition co-principals.

The NASA leaders who appeared to have sensed a shortchange by Raila Odinga who had a handshake with President Uhuru said that it will need them to be close to the presidency to witness such multi-billion projects that were launched by the president in Kisumu County.

Political leaders allied to Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi have vowed to push their party leader to vie for the country’s top seat to have their regions also benefit.

In his statement, Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula claimed that the Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have neglected other regions who voted for him and called on Western region to rally behind Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi in his Presidential bid.

“You have seen what happened in Nyanza last week, we in Western want Musalia to clinch the presidency so that we can also benefit,” Savula said.

The Western leaders wondered why Raila would not push for the same in other regions, including Western and Ukamabani, whose leaders have previously supported him in his quest for presidency.

The leaders from the greater Ukambani region have also sworn to rally behind Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to go for the top seat so that their region can also benefit.
