President Uhuru leads other top political party leaders in wishing Kenyans happy Easter holiday

President Uhuru Kenyatta led other political party leaders in wishing Kenyans happy Easter holiday with messages of hope and faith.

In his Easter message, the President who is also the Jubilee party leader said Kenyans should emulate the loving heart, compassion and deep sense of duty that Jesus Christ gave the world.

“This year, we find ourselves once again commemorating Easter weekend in a muted manner. Despite the setback, I remain comforted by the fact that God is a keeper of promises.  He promised that the frustrations and weeping we experience is temporary, and that joy will surely come,” Uhuru said.

The Head of State also called on Kenyans to keep themselves and those around them safe through the pandemic.

“In the true spirit of Easter, each one of us is called upon to make sacrifices for the collective good. We can find strength and joy in recalling that: by keeping ourselves and each other safe from the raging pandemic,” he added.

ODM leader Raila Odinga urged Kenyans to retain the faith that our Lord Jesus triumphed over crucifixion and death adding that we shall overcome the pandemic.

“Even in these difficult times, let’s retain the faith that the God of wonders who ensured our Lord Jesus triumphed over crucifixion and death on this weekend more than 2000 years ago is still with us, He still performs miracles and triumphs over evil. We shall overcome,” Raila said.

UDA party leader who is also the Deputy President William Ruto on his part said that Easter has come at a time when Kenyans are battling with pain and suffering of Covid-19.

“Once again Easter season has come at a time when the world continues to endure pain and suffering of a pandemic that still stalks the land,” Ruto said.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka sent a message of hope, happiness, prosperity and abundance to all Kenyans.

“May this Easter season inspires you to new hope, happiness, prosperity, and abundance, all received through God’s divine grace,” Kalonzo said.

ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi called upon Kenyans to take the Covid-19 jab even as they continue adhering to the Ministry of Health COVID-19 during this Easter festive season.

This comes as the country enters the Easter weekend with five counties; Nairobi, Nakuru, Kajiado, Kiambu and Machakos remain under lockdown as the government tries to contain the Covid-19 disease.
