One of the country’s most famous polygamists who has also served previously as a Senator has trained his guns on Machakos governor Dr. Alfred Mutua. The former senator is now claiming that the biggest problem with Governor Mutua, who has been in the headlines for different reasons in the last couple of months, is simply that he is suffering from a serious case of obsession.
All this unfolded during an episode of Citizen TV’s daily morning show, Daybreak, which was hosted by Trevor Ombija. On the show were the Machakos governor and Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader Dr. Alfred Mutua who was appearing virtually from New York in the United States of America, and former Kakamega senator, Dr. Bonny Khalwale. Also on the show was Kiambu County Senator, Kimani Wamatangi.
The Machakos governor gave his thoughts on deputy president William Ruto’s chances of ascending to the presidency, and what kind of presidency it would be.
Tearing Dr. Ruto’s ambitions to shreds, he highlighted the fact that Ruto had been in an influential position for close to a decade, yet hadn’t been able to achieve any of the colourful promises that he was now giving. He also cast doubt on the practicability of his pledges, and whether he would really be able to achieve them.
When his co-panelist, Dr. Bonny Khalwale, got a chance to respond, he deduced that Dr. Mutua was simply obsessed with the DP. He noted that instead of telling people what he, as a presidential candidate, intended to do for the people, he was focused on William Ruto. He urged the governor to sell his achievements in Machakos over the period that he has served as governor, and that perhaps this would sway people in his favour.
Going further on in his attack on the governor, he declared that Mutua’s barbs against Deputy President William Ruto were completely unnecessary since he wasn’t Ruto’s competitor. He asserted that Ruto’s real competitor was former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and Mutua was better suited serving in Ruto’s government as ICT CS, or his old role of Government Spokesman.
