Police have launched a manhunt for a lover after a German citizen’s lifeless body was found in Hotel

Police have launched a manhunt for a woman believed to be behind mysterious deaths of two lovers in Mtwapa, Kilifi County.

According a report by Daily Nation on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, revealed that the police are looking for unidentified woman after the body of her lover, Krabbe Dieter Gunther, a German national was found on the ground floor of a hotel in Mombasa.

Gunther’s body was found on Saturday, May 29, 2021 barely two days after that of his girlfriend identified as Cynthia Akinyi was found wrapped in a bedsheet in Mtwapa.

Following Akinyi’s death on Thursday, May 27, 2021, Police had initially launched a manhunt for the German national believing that he had murdered his girlfriend.

The case has however, taken a new twist with the pursuit of the woman whom police believe is responsible for both the two deaths.

His death was initially ruled as suicide since detectives observed that he had jumped from the fifth floor of the building.

In the preliminary report, Kilifi County Commander Nelson Taliti disclosed that evidence showed that the 58 years old Gunther had quarreled with his girlfriend.

“The man had a fight with the woman in their house on Wednesday night. He killed her and then ran away. His body was found at around 6am on Saturday by members of the public, who then alerted the police.”

“It has not been established if he had booked a room in the hotel before committing suicide. I am yet to get the details,” Taliti stated.

In their statement, the police said that they believed the woman who hails from Kembeni in Bamburi, was responsible for the death.

“It is alleged that Mr. Dieter had another woman but we are still investigating the matter to know what caused his death.

“The boda boda rider knows a lot since he was the only one who was sent to buy food and even beer for the lovers and deliver it to their apartment at Mtomondoni and the other house in Bamburi,” the police boss clarified.
