Police officers in Nakuru county have arrested 25-year old Faith Chepkorir for allegedly murdering her 4-year-old daughter.
Chepkorir was arrested after the body of the child was found in a 7-foot latrine where it had been dumped.
Villagers were the first to corner Chepkorir demanding to know the whereabouts of her daughter.
This was after an eye-witness who was privy to the details placed her at the scene of crime with the mother first denying knowledge of where her daughter was.
After the unrelenting villagers cornered her demanding to know the truth, Chepkorir eventually bowed to the pressure and led them to the latrine where villagers managed to recover the child’s body.
She also confessed to the heinous crime of murdering her daughter and disposing the body in the pit latrine.
The suspect who is in lawful police custody will be processed and arraigned in court to answer to charges of murder.
The incident which occurred on Tuesday, June 29th left the residents of Kapno village in Kuresoi, Nakuru county reeling in shock.
Neighbors would later reveal that Ms Chepkorir had separated from her husband, taking away her daughter.
