ODM responds to Mudavadi’s ANC over its threats following Malala’s Ouster

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has dismissed Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi’s threat to deal with the Opposition party following the removal of Cleophas Malala as the Deputy Senate Minority leader.

Mudavadi had vowed to teach ODM a lesson following the ejection of Malala as Senate Deputy Minority leader.

While responding to the threats issued by ANC party leader Mudadadi over Senator Malala’s ouster through a coded language, ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna claimed that ANC had punished Malala more than ODM had.

“You tried to behead the guy and now you are crying because we took away his shoes? Jokers,” Malala said.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen also twitted on Wednesday, March 24,2021 stating that Mudavadi had committed the worst mistake after expelling Malala from his party in June 2020.

“Between ODM that merely removed Malala from Senate Leadership and you who in June last year expelled Malala from the ANC Party, who committed the worst sin?” Murkomen posed.

Aggrieved by the move, the ANC party had vowed to fight for its rightful place in the troubled NASA coalition to ensure the ODM party respects its leaders.

During a National Super Alliance (NASA) Parliamentary Group meeting held on Wednesday, March 24, all the 20 ODM senators appended their signatures to have Malala ejected.

He was accused of gross misconduct and mischief in the recently concluded Matungu parliamentary by-election.

The Kakamega senator was also accused of disrespecting leaders of the Opposition outfit, among them Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who doubles up as ODM deputy party leader.

Kilifi senator, Stewart Madzayo, was picked as his replacement.
