A Ugandan businessman allied to Uganda Ruling party NRM has filed a case against Raila Odinga’s ODM at the EAST African Court Of Justice in Arusha, Tanzania.
The businessman claims that the remarks made by ODM leaders led by Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed and his counterparts John Mbadi were disrespectful and an insult to President Yoweri Museveni’s NRM.
Bamatuze says the legislator contravened the laws that governs The East African Community by disregarding the NRM Movement as he further demanded that the Kenyan MPs be found guilty for undermining the East African diplomatic ties.
“Award an interest of 6% per annum on cost awarded to the applicant from the time of filling this reference till payment is full,”read part of the court papers concerning the fine.
The Kenyan attorney general was given 45 days to give a response on the matter.
This came in the wake as ODM members on a press conference on Wednesday at Parliament Building after Deputy President William Ruto’s botched trip to Uganda. The legislators demanded the deputy president to clear the air over the link with Ugandan president.
The ODM troops further claimed that Ruto’s relationship with President Museveni was an act of the DP seeking Museveni help to employ the tactics his party has used to keep him in power for over 35 years.
