New details emerge as Kibwana Breaks Silence Over Kalonzo Working With Ruto Or Raila, Sends A Strong Message To Him

Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana has finally broken his silence over Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka working with ODM leader Raila Odinga or Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Talking to his twitter account, Kibwana said the former vice president was willing to work with either of the two ahead of 2022 polls, alleging  that negotiations on the table will be a determining factor on whom to work with.

“Hon. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has stated that he is willing to work with both Ruto and Raila. It all depends on what he gets out of the negotiations with either. It’s gotten to the point where anyone can just TOSS A COIN with no regard for principle or consultation with the community he claims to represent.”

He stated that Kalonzo appears to be preoccupied with his own self-interests rather than the needs of his people.

There has been speculation over Kalonzo’s possible partnership with ODM leader Raila Odinga in the 2022 General Election.

The massive defections by Mt Kenya leaders to Ruto’s camp have brought to the fore the crucial place Kalonzo holds in ODM leader Raila’s 2022 bid.

Since it remains unknown how Mt Kenya will vote in the President Uhuru Kenyatta succession race, it could well be that Raila needs the former Vice President to build a political juggernaut against Ruto.

However, the former Prime Minister could be caught on the horns of a dilemma on what to offer Kalonzo and also balance the interests of Mt Kenya.

In the predicament, about 1.2 million votes in Ukambani that Raila bagged in the 2013 and 2017 elections are now under threat as he embarks on his fifth stab at the presidency.

Political observers hold that Kalonzo is important, whichever side he throws his weight behind, and therefore cannot be ignored.
