Muthama Defends Ruto From Claims Of Being A Corrupt Politician

UDA National Chairman Johnson Muthama has come to the defence of Deputy President William Ruto over claims that he is heavily involved in corruption.

The DP has for years been branded corrupt by his opponents, with ODM boss Raila Odinga leading the way in accusing him of theft of public resources.

The narrative has been adopted by allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta like Jubilee Party Vice Chair David Murathe, who have made it clear that he will not hand over to a thief while retiring next year.

But it has been dismissed by Muthama, who terms it a weak attempt to make Ruto look bad before engaging in dirty games to lock him out of the presidency in next year’s general elections.

He wonders how people, including the President, would rely on this narrative, yet there is no case in court where Ruto is accused of corruption.

“Sitawachia Mwizi Kiti Narrative is Defeatist Mentality and a tired Phrase from a President who has only one vote unless he wants to UNLEASH political violence on us. How does one become the Judge and the Jury on matters Corruption touching on the office of the Deputy President yet there’s no court case pending for William Ruto,” he says in a tweet.

He adds that those painting Ruto black re only trying to divert Kenyans’ attention as those with such cases are known, predicting that their plans will badly fail.

He adds that there is nothing that can stop Rut from being the next President, adding that Kenyans will elect him despite the attempts to stop it.

“Those who have plundered our resources are known to the hustlers and NO amount of intimidation will stop us electing William Ruto as our next President. Dynastic rule must come to an end in 2022,” adds the vocal politician.

But his remarks come amid an ongoing case pitting the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and Ruto’s Weston Hotel, where the hotel owners are accused of putting it up in a grabbed land owned by the authority.

Already the hotel has been found to have been erected on a grabbed piece of land, with the case now being about if it can compensate the authority at the current market price of the land.

Ruto has also opened up on the claims of being corrupt, and during his concluded tour of the Coast terming it merely an attempt to incite Kenyans against him.
