Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has accused Deputy President William Ruto of being the source of anger amongst the Kikuyu community.
The Political Analyst has accused DP Ruto of being the manufacturer of the anger amongst Mt Kenya residents despite the president’s efforts in improving the living standards of the coffee farmers from the region.
In his statement, Ngunyi claimed that coffee prices are 50 times better for farmers during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration than what they used to get.
He noted that the coffee farmers are getting KSh. 118 per kg of the produce, which is 50 times higher than what they were getting in past regimes.
“Kikuyu anger is manufactured by Ruto. Under Moi, the price of coffee per kilo was KSh 0.5. Under Uhuru, the farmer is getting KSh 118 per kilo or 50 times under Kibaki. Is this bottom-up economics?” Ngunyi posed.
However, economist David Ndii differed with the analyst and said his figures about the coffee prices were actually wrong.
Ngunyi has also been delving into 2022 succession politics and causing mixed reactions as the General Election approaches.
The political analyst had opined in his previous statement that 2022 presidential election will end in a run-off adding that the GEMA community will rally their support behind Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.
“Instead of pre-election coalitions, “the law of natural selection” will be used to force a run-off. Two candidates will emerge. The first will be a GEMA supported candidate (Fred Matiangi?). The second will be from the Mulembe Nation – all based on ethnic vote,” Ngunyi stated.
Ngunyi further stated that Matiang’i will win the 2022 presidential race adding that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga will be taken care of by Matiangí’s government.
“And by the way, Fred Matiangi will become president, Read History. The evidence has been deposited. And Raila will be taken care of,” he said.
