Muranga Business Community has registered its displeasure on the chaos which was witnessed in Muranga’s Kenol area and now has issued a stern warning to DP Ruto, saying he will be met with equal force if there are any chaos at any of his functions in the county. The group also banned Kenya Mpya buses from conducting business in the county.
”DP Ruto and his adherents, especially leaders from Murangá, Alice Wahome and Ndindi Nyoro must apologize to the people of Muranga and particularly, families whose members were killed in yesterday’s political fracas,” the statement read in part.
The chaos which saw rival Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga politicians and their supporters clash have so far seen Muranga’ governor Mwangi wa Iria state that no event will be held in the county unless he is the emcee. Nyoro had claimed that the violence at Kenol was organized and sponsored by Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho and leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition Leader Raila Odinga.
“The violence we witnessed yesterday was state sponsored. The money came from office of Interior Ministry through Kibicho. Meetings had been organized and Sabina Chege (Murang’a Woman Rep) was dishing out money at Thika Greens,” Nyoro alleged. Nyoro also denied receiving any summons compelling him to present himself to the police for questioning.
In his statement directed to Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, DCI boss George Kinoti and Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, the legislator claims that he is too busy to record a statement and directed the police to go for the suspects.
“I have no time to come and record statements. You know those who propagated the violence, go for them. I am not coming to any office. I will not be used to cleanse murderers,” Nyoro vowed.
