Muluka to head Ruto’s Communications Wing after the DP cleared his 9M Bank loan

William Ruto’s Head of Secretariat Davis Chirchir on Thursday met former ANC Secretary General Barrack Muluka yesterday in Westlands to finalize on a deal for Muluka to formally join Ruto’s camp as Head of Communications in the DP’s Campaign Secretariat.

At the meeting, Chirchir informed Muluka the DP would clear his 9M loan at Absa Bank and also offer him weekly pay for his services. Other than heading the Communications wing, Muluka is also expected to be advising Ruto on political matters.

The Kenyan Report in June revealed finer details of a political deal between DP William Ruto, ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya’s Moses Wetangula. Specifics of a highly classified document showed an elaborate strategy, whose intention is to form ”a stable and a formidable team” that will challenge the Uhuru-Raila faction.

”Amidst the changing and challenging political scenes in Kenya, the political relationship and cooperation need to be recast with an eye to the 2022 general elections. This political cooperation will codify the most important goals and objectives of our political discourse,” reads the document in part.

”With the current political dynamics, where Political realignments are being witnessed and cooperation 2 agreements being signed solely for 2022 succession politics, there is need to assess the possibility of a working relationship between H.E William Ruto ,Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.”

The strategy paper affirms the Mudavadi-Ruto-Wetangula formation must reflect, represent and capture the emotions of a majority of voters. This the paper says is achievable through ‘populist’ policies that will ‘entice’ the electorates.

”The normative ideal of this prospective political cooperation is that it MUST reflect, represent and capture the emotions of a majority of voters. The model anticipates that the cooperating partners will provide sensational and populist policies that will emotionally capture and entice the electorates,” the document explains.

Advisors of the three affirm, there is also the need to examine political impact of this political cooperation and assess how it will politically affect political interests of the members.

On June 12th, a two hour Basic Working Guideline meeting was held at both DP’s official residence in Karen and at Mudavadi Memorial Center to focus exclusively on four areas this cooperation intends to tackle.

These four areas included the opening of Jubilee Asili Center as a joint Secretariat funded by the members, cooperation talks, current political developments in the country and the unavoidable implications of a Uhuru-Raila-Kalonzo-Gideon-Rutto political alliance.
