MPs Arati and Osoro reconcile

Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Simba Arati and his South Mugirango counterpart Sylvanus Osoro have publicly reconciled days after they exchanged blows during the funeral service of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi’s father, Abel Gongera .

MPs Arati and Osoro on Friday, February 26, 2021  reconciled at a funeral service in Kisii County.

While delivering his speech at the funeral service of the late Bonchari Member of Parliament John Oroo Oyioka, Dagoreti North legislator admitted that it was wrong for both of them to fight at a funeral service.

“As a leader, it was important for me to make peace. I know we made a mistake and we have reconciled,” Arati stated.

The presiding priest at the funeral service thanked the two leader for reconciling and making peace and urged them to continue working.

“As a church, we prayed that the two leaders would reconcile and make peace. I am sincerely grateful and ask the both of you to continue working together,” the priest said.

This comes after MP Osoro stormed the podium and attempted to snatch the microphone from Arati after the legislator allegedly made abusive statement against Deputy President William Ruto which resulted to a fight.

Security Officers at the funeral service were forced to intervene in an attempt to contain the situation.
