Members of Parliament allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have responded to sensational claims by Rtd Major John Seii that they were ambushed and cornered to sign the BBI report that had been doctored.
In a terse response, the MPs embarrassed Seii, stating that despite being a respected elder who should have put the interest of the country first, he was pursuing selfish agenda in the interest of his ‘master’ Deputy President William Ruto.
Led by Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, the MPs dismissed his sensational claims, maintaining that he is Ruto’s attack dog.
“The allegations are very unfortunate and suspicious and can only be linked to his affiliation with William Ruto, who has also voiced his concerns about the same,” said Wambugu.
The MPs who were breathing fire maintained that the claims did not come as a surprise, stating that he (Seii) should refund the public all the money he earned when he sat in the taskforce as he failed to drive public agenda and pushed for the interest of his master.
“Seii’s remarks do not come to us as a surprise, in any case we know who his master is. He (Seii) is definitely not speaking on his own,”said National Assembly deputy Majority Whip Maoka Maore.
“The man should even be challenged to refund the public what he has earned during the last two years if he doesn’t believe in the report and if he wants Kenyans to at least trust him,” he added.
Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe slammed Seii stating that ““It is a shame that a leader who has served this country as a major can make outrageous claims about a process that he has participated in without expressing any initial reservations”.
