MPS Accuse CS Fred Matiang’i of Selfish Interest In the betting firms Licensing

Members of Parliament from both half, ODM and Jubilee have weighed in on the standoff between betting firms and the Betting Control and Licensing Board claming the government is blackmailing and extorting legally operating businesses.

Embakasi Member of Parliament Babu Owino while speaking to members of the press at Serena Hotel said, “It is clear that this directive is discriminatory & illegal & cannot stand the test of judicial scrutiny. Therefore, we must ask ourselves what is the motive behind this if not the institutional extortion and blackmail of legally operating businesses.

Kakamega senator is on tape saying how the betting industry has helped a great deal in making sure the sporting sector in the country has grown exponentially . The firms have created jobs and if this kind of stand off persists then, the sporting industry.

Honorable Malala went ahead to reveal how top government officials have interests in the betting industry. Claiming CS Matiangi has vested interested of which his close relative is a director at Bet Lion which now has an operating license. Malala said they will fight to the tooth to make sure the firms have their licenses returned. Kakamega youths are huge beneficiaries of the support the betting firms have extended in their previous tournaments such as the CLEO Malalah SUPER CUP
