Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko offers to accommodate and educate Caroline Kangogo’s Children

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has offered to accommodate and educate the late cop Caroline Kangogo’s children.

On Friday, July 16, 2021, Sonko posted on his Facebook page a message expressing his willingness to take care of Kangogo’s children should her family becomes overwhelmed.

“My special request to her innocent family in Elgeyo Marakwet, if you experience any difficulties in raising Kangogo’s children or educating them, please give them to me; I will warmly host them and educate them. Children are a blessing from God, Sonko said.

Sonko, while admitting that depression is real, questioned the circumstances surrounding the corporal’s death.

“May God help me to remain silent, but whether she committed suicide or was killed, depression is real, and the same predicament can befall anyone,” he stated.

This comes after Kangogo was found dead in a bathroom in her parents’ home in Annin, Elgeyo Marakwet County, on the morning of Friday, July 16, 2021.

According to Rift Valley regional commissioner George Natembeya, Kangogo turned the gun to herself, leading to her death.

“She came home at 5am today and stayed around for a while before going to the bathroom where she shot herself dead at around 7am,” Natembeya said.

Kangogo was married to a senior police officer attached to the Maritime Police Unit in Mombasa and together were blessed with two kids aged eight and 11 years.

Her marriage, however, was troubled as she allegedly fought with him in public over infidelity. The duo later separated but agreed to co-parent.

Kangogo was the main suspect behind the killing of Police Constable John Ogweno in Nakuru and Juja businessman Peter Njiru Ndwiga.
