In his reaction to the good news, the vibrant lawyer acknowledged the owner by the Thirdway Alliance for unveiling him as their preferred candidate, adding that they share a common belief with the political party.

He castigated the former regime for impeding the City developments, citing that it was marred with cartels and bad leadership.

“It is a great honor for Thirdway Alliance Kenya to unveil Dr. Miguna Miguna as its candidate for this by-election. Thirdway Alliance and Miguna share a common belief that Nairobi and indeed the Republic of Kenya can no longer be entrusted in the hands of corrosive cartels and criminal enterprise. It is time to drain the swamp of bad leadership and dismantle this rogue cartel hemorrhaging Nairobi,” read the statement in part.

Miguna urged the people of Nairobi to mobilize themselves, and rid the City of the cartels and their surrogates

“…We need to work together in unity as patriots… to liberate Nairobi from cartels and tyrants, let’s mobilize and organize like no other time. The time is now Nairobi must be liberated, Viva.

“The cartels and their surrogates are trembling already, but the majestic people of Nairobi are happy and ready with their voters’ cards. We are going to transform Nairobi into a first-class county and city. Viva!” he said.

Miguna was unveiled by the party’s National Chairman Miruri Waweru yesterday, while endorsing him, Waweru said that working with Miguna will bring sanity and tangible changes to the city.

The seat was left vacant following the impeachment of former governor Mike Sonko two weeks ago.
