MCAs slam Badi over slow projects

Nairobi MCAs have castigated Nairobi Metropolitan Services boss Mohammed Badi over stalled projects.

The MCAs instructed the Transport and Public Works Committee to investigate the Nairobi Metropolitan Service, noting that most projects around the city are progressing at a very slow pace.

Led by Ngei MCA Redson Otieno, the MCAs said although there is a priority list, they said NMS had not begun some construction despite having all the necessary equipment.

“Several the projects are yet to start despite the passage and assent of the appropriations Act, ” he said.

NMS has had an exemplary record in timely project delivery since taking over key functions from the Nairobi County Government.

However, this new development seems to have tainted its record.

NMS suffered a blow in 2021 after reports that it would lose approximately Ksh 9 billion in budgetary estimates.
