Main Suspect Behind The Killing Of 4 Kitngela Men Arrested

Police officers have arrested a 40-year old man suspected to be behind the manslaughter of four Kitengela men in Kajiado County.

Reports indicated that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) informed that they arrested the prime suspect believed to be behind the controversial killing of the four Kitengela men Fred Mureithi, 30, and Victor Mwangi, 25, their friends Mike George, 29, and Nicholas Musa, 28, were lynched by a mob after they were allegedly mistaken for cattle rustlers.

Taking to its Twitter handle page, the DCI revealed that a 40-year-old Benson Melonyie ole Mungai was arrested by DCI sleuths in an undercover operation on Monday 16 August.

The investigation agency asserted that Benson Mungai engineered the killings of the four mem for reasons that are well known to him.

The DCI sleuths also revealed that Mungai was flushed out of his hideout after he went into hiding shortly after the death of the four Kitengela men on Sunday 8 August.

“His arrest comes a few days after DCI took over investigations into the murders and moved with speed to pursue the killers,” reads DCI’s statement.

“Ole Mungai was positively linked into the brutal killings after forensic investigations placed him at the scene of the crime, where it was established that he led and coordinated the killing of the four,” further reads the DCI statement.

The 40-year-old man is currently helping the police with investigations as they put together evidence to establish circumstances that led to the vicious killings.

DCI also noted that a manhunt has been launched to catch the other suspects adding that police are in pursuit of a politician said to have fired in the air to disperse the mob that was lynching the four men.
