Gospel hitmaker, Willy Paul has given his take on Juliani’s new relationship with former Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua’s ex-wife Lilian Nganga.
Willy Paul urged Kenyans to give Juliani a break shortly after former Machakos First Lady Lilian Nganga confirmed on Friday, September 3 that she was smitten with the hip-hop star who has warmed his way into her heart and won her love just months after she terminated her relationship with governor Alfred Mutua.
In a video on his social media and seen by this writer, Willy Paul congratulated Juliani for his new found love. “You guys, let Juliani enjoy the fruits of his hard work. Juliani! Shikilia hapo buda! Mtoto ni mzuri. Shikilia,” Willy Paul said.
Among those who have congratulated the newest couple in town and wished them well is deported and exiled opposition activist Miguna Miguna.
“Congratulations to Lilian Ng’ang’a and Julius Owino Jaluo-Jeuri a.k.a. Juliani. Welcome to Nyalgunga Kama rech ngege mit ka mo kich,” Miguna Miguna posted on Twitter.
Nganga and Juliani set the record straight on Friday, sharing a photo of herself hugging the rapper with a message to Kenyans confirming her love for the Utawala hitmaker.
“In this photo are two fully conscious adults who have chosen to be together. Any other narrative is false outdated and ill intentioned. Let’s respect people’s choices. Love and let love,” read the statement which was signed off by the initials JL.
Juliani would affirm the same in a subsequent message in which he sated that their relationship is now obvious.
“Asante sana for all who’ve reached out the past couple of weeks. Mola awazidishie. No need for a statement about the obvious issue. I know you can think for yourselves. Draw your own conclusions. I believe in you,” his IG post read.
Juliani rubbished allegations that he had snatched Lilian from another man (in this case believed to be Dr. Alfred Mutua.
In a tweet, Juliani wondered how a mature person with a sound mind can be ‘stolen’.
Juliani clarified that those claiming that he snatched another man’s wife with the the “ulinyang’anyana” narrative are wrong and wondered how a grown up could be snatched.
“How now can you “iba mtu”?! An intelligent adult with a sound mind. The call/text threat on my life today, NOT funny! “ulinyang’anyana” narrative is false, tired, juicy headlines tu. Kindly STOP! For the threats, usi aim face, na prefer niki smile kwa open casket. Baraka” shared Juliani.
The affair was preceded by allegations of detah threats that saw the hitmaker record a statement with the police.
Human rights activist Boniface Mwangi would go a step further and even share the contact that was allegedly used to threaten Juliani.
“My very good friend @JulianiKenya was threatened yesterday. Someone called him and texted using 0773912088. He told him to stop posting pics posed with his friend @LillyanneNganga, and if he continues, they will kill him. He has recorded a statement at Kileleshwa Police Station” shared Boniface Mwangi via his Twitter handle.
