Kwanza Sub-Branch League resumes on Saturday 28th with 5 matches slated to be played across the Sub-County.
Football Kenya Federation had suspended the league after a partial lockdown was ordered in thirteen counties to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The leagues has 12 teams participating with all teams currently having played only two matches.
The Kwanza Sub-Branch League has been dubbed KWANZA HEROES LEAGUE and the league management is seeking for partners and sponsors across the nation to make football for social change a reality.
“We are committed to see a successful League with all teams being appreciated and the youth benefitting in a way or the other from our partners ,we also look forward to have a strong team that shall represent the Sub-Branch in the next Season’s Branch league” says Godricks Wanyonyi, The Secretary General of the league
The management is optimistic that the Kwanza Heroes League will be the most competitive in the entire Trans-Nzoia county as most of the players have been featuring in higher leagues and have now come back home to groom the upcoming.
“The greatest challenge we are facing as a league is the cost of honouring a match and we call on local people, the community and relevant departments to chip in and help our struggling teams honor their matches ” Suggested Dennis Muhati,Kwanza United Team Manager.
The league ends October 31st.
